School Advisory Councils (SAC) play an important role in supporting student success at the school community level.
An SAC is an advisory body to the school principal, Regional Centre for Education, and the Conseil Scolaire Acadien Provincial on a range of issues related to the school and the school system.
At East St. Margaret's Elementary, our SAC consists of five (5) voting members which include:
- Two (2) Parent/Guardian Members
- One (1) Member of the Teaching Staff
- One (1) Member of the Support Staff
- One (1) Community Member
The Principal serves on the SAC as a permanent, non-voting member.
The membership of the 2025-26 ESM School Advisory Council is as follows:
- Chair - Heather Napoli, Parent/Guardian Representative
- Vice-Chair - Elizabeth Hallett, Parent/Guardian Representative
- Secretary - Lauren Bowes, Support Staff Representative
- Wendi Tekamp, Principal
- Melanie Connors Blades, Teaching Staff Representative
- Shelley Mills, Community Representative
The ESM SAC will meet not less than six (6) times per school year. Members of the public who wish to address the SAC are asked to inform the SAC through the Chair or Principal in writing at least one week prior to the meeting. They may address the meeting at the discretion of the Chair. The following dates have been scheduled for meetings during the 2025-2026 school year:
- October 7, 2025
- November 4, 2025
- February 24, 2026
- April 14, 2026
- May 12, 2026
- June 9, 2026
